I have had 3 of these Misfire codes pop up on my 2017 Raptor. I took it to the Dealer and they erased the code. They then test drove it for 10 miles. The code did not pop up while they had it so they contacted Ford Factory. The Factory gave them a few things to check. They of course found nothing and they sent me on my way. The Dealer did say that they did not receive anything really helpful from the Factory....more of a check loose connections type deal. This is obviously a problem that MANY of us are starting to experience. My Raptor has only 1,600 miles on it and it happens erratically now the third time. I do not notice any issue with performance when the code pops up, it's just there. I tried putting a charger on the battery just to be sure it wasn't a low battery. That did not work either. All I can say is KEEP GOING TO FORD and bringing it to their attention. The more complaints, the more research they will perform. I honestly don't think they know what it is......yet.

You may be chasing a ghost here. It might be worth considering what SPD suggested and get a set of plugs installed. If you do it at the dealer, they warranty the work at least for a year.

Yeah, you might have to spend some money, but how much time did you lose on the warranty / misfire visit?

I'll. Add that I had that code pop up a few times all prior to 3000mi. My truck is tuned now and haven't seen it since. 11k miles now with no issues. Not saying that has anything to do with it nor is tuning a viable fix but it might. Like Smurf said I think it is a ghost and possibly programming related. Just my 2cents. YMMV

Is your truck all stock? This should not be happening on stock ecoboost. In previous years, the ecoboost also suffered from persistent misfires.

My 17' Raptor is 100% stock. I did determine that each time it occurred it was on initial cold startup. In other words, it never has occurred while driving. It happens the moment you push the start button. Cold start.

Just a clarifying question regarding the spark plug replacement idea. So, are the new plugs a hotter than stock plug? Also, I have not checked the gap on my stock plugs, but I will. I am assuming that gapping the plugs to .030 is a tighter than stock gap providing the spark a lesser path to travel and thus, an easier path to ignite? Am I tracking? Secondly, this is my first Ecoboost, so don't shoot me for asking...but what is this about drilling a weep hole in my intercooler? The intercooler is under pressure whenever the turbos are boosting. By drilling a hole, aren't you effectively reducing turbo boost? I mean, high pressure air is going to go out the weep hole and bypass the engine.....right? I live in Florida. High heat. Higher humidity. For what it's worth within this discussion. Thanks in advanced for the feedback folks.

Hey Smokeshow, when you said you had your Raptor tuned, what does that mean? Like you used AFE programmer or Bully Dog Programmer?? Just trying to understand what "tuning" you specifically performed to address the problem. Thanks in advance.
