Electronic Smell when heat is on

I smell a recall... (See what I did there?:-D)

I noticed this odor in my 13 SCab tonight. First time I've smelled it. 9400 miles. Went away after about 30 seconds. I saw the thread on the other forum. Looks like its cause is unknown, so they won't recall what they can't find. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I still have the smell after the dealership had my truck for 3 days back in the beginning of June. They did something to deodorize the smell but it came back a day later.

I'm heading back there in the next few weeks again.

I have this same smell and a couple months ago I took in to dealer. They could not replicate (of course) but I find it happens mostly when it is cooler out. They did do a die test on AC system to check for leaks there - no issues. There was another issue with the TStat that they took care of by replacing. I am glad to find others with the same issues....I am not crazy. At least not by this problem anyway.

I've grown used to it. My kids actually like it - they say it makes the truck smell new. <shrug>

I've been to the dealer a total of three times now for this issue. Last time they gave me the deodorizer treatment. This time they're doing the same thing. Guys on the F-150 Forum are saying dealerships are replacing the Evap assembly. I told them about it and of course they have to follow fords service schedule. I've had it..... might be time to get something else....

This issue has been resolved for a while now. Was nothing major... I believed they did the deodorizer again but in a different location.

Mine went away on its own after a few months.
