My dad had his MKT in twice for Ecoboost issues... Hesitation under acceleration too! Felt like it was pulling timing. All plugs replaced at 8,000 miles, reflashed, went away for a while. Then came back again, and still hasn't been resolved.

I think there may be something to it...

Oh im not saying they might ahve a issue. Got 2 friends with them and they have had problems but they still love them. I can tell ya there is a coil problem that fouls and, the cats start to melt and it acts just like what you are talking about. Full tq at 2500rpm is awesome not saying that the 6.2 is a bad engine but its max tq aint till 4500.

My wife just got a new Mercedes...test drove the smaller turbo and the V6...hands down the naturally aspirated V6 drove 10x better...the tube lag was kinda annoying...so she went with the V6 and it was more expensive...I don't think there is any difference at all in the mpg either...

Enjoy driving it! Definitely nice having the low end power on demand, instead of waiting... And waiting... LOL

At the very least, the law suit will force Ford to put some real hours into a solution, now that it's on the news. Still a great engine, likely just needs a tuning modification.

I have 2 friends with the ecoburst in their pickups. One is completely frustrated with the mileage, the other is a shop queen (spends more time at the dealership than at home). That is the only 2 I personally know, so it is enough for me to say I would not buy one.

My sales guy at Ford has an eco in his F-150 and we compare mileage between my wife's 5.0 L FX-4 and his. He does a bit better in town, on the highway they are neck and neck. Not good enough for me to have to deal with twin turbos.

One thing is for sure on my end. I am glad Ford is not handling my retirement anymore. Imagine this blowing up like the firestone tire debacle...

Ford bet the proverbial "farm" on this motor. Now that there are problems not to mention mpg complaints it will not be pretty. When the public begins to smell the corpse rotting then changes will be made... This was an ill-advised venture to sell this as a workhorse engine.

I personally do not know of anyone who owns one that will buy another one because of mpg disappointment. When they first came out Ford pushed these---in another couple of years when the fleet has a lot more miles and time the term "eco-boost" will have a negative perception associated with it and trade values will plummet!
