Thanks guys! Good call on the cig adapter and poking a hole. Here's what I did:

There are several indents in the plastic tray that the rubber mat snap into. Rather than cut a new hole I just drilled the bottom of one of those out. It made things nice and easy. The indent also provides a nice spot for the wire to rest in when the GPS is removed. It wont rattle around!

Then it was just a matter of unclipping the wires from the back of the cig adapter (the clip part was facing the glovebox by the way, so if yours is like mine that's where you'll want to press before pulling.)

PS: I bought my Baja from Outlaw... I paid full price, but I'm 99% sure I got a well used unit. There was lots of grime on the buttons, as if they'd been pressed many many times by dirty fingers, and the plastics are slightly discolored up top as if they'd been in sunlight for a while. Everything works just fine, but still... just sayin...

Also make sure you update your firmware. Mine was a couple years old.

Hey by the way Outlaw Raptor caught wind of this and is sending me out a brand new unit, complete with a call tag/paid for return shipping for the old unit. They didn't even ask to see pics. They just jumped at my concern and made it right. Awesome customer service!!
