I’m considering getting a new set of wheels, and some of the options are beadlock capable with beauty rings (such as the stock R wheels). Do the rings need to be (or should be) removed to install tires? If so, is ring removal/reinstallation something you’d expect a basic tire shop to handle? And if so, should I expect to pay extra for that? Probably overthinking this but it would be helpful to know what to generally expect.

I just installed R bead lock capable wheels on my 802a. The tire shop didn't charge me extra for mounting and balancing the wheels. I believe the beauty rings need to be removed to mount the tires.

Yes, beauty rings get removed and any decent tire shop will do it. Mine doesn’t charge for it.

I would remove them and reinstall myself only because some shops can damage them. Why risk it?

Do they need to be on for the tires to be properly balanced?

Lotta disinfo on this thread. 2 sets of tires already both times rings were left on. Zero issues.
