I see you have a 2012 without the My Ford Touch system. Looks like the Maestro is not yet compatible with the MFT system. I'll still be interested to see the rest of this build.

a few more pics, and some updates. we are going to have to design a custom mount and faceplate for the ZR800's as 8 doesn't go into 5x7, as we knew. since i'm getting custom grills for that, I'm having the stock sony grills painted black as well.

Today was about speakers and wire runs.

here are the ZR650's:

crossoversandfrontspeakers3_zps6ceca3da.jpg

cross overs are going in passenger footwell for two reasons
1. I can get to them to adjust them easier
2. I'm a stickler about everything being bolted down tight and hidden from water as much as possible. putting them in the doors just wouldn't work.

here's the mount for them:

here is one tucked up in it's mount location:
crossoversandfrontspeakers4_zps74219f51.jpg

battery mount is done:
crossoversandfrontspeakers5_zpsef5ad27b.jpg

headliner is back in, next comes the custom mount for the ICOM radio, faceplate, mic mount. and the antenna mount in the back.

stay tuned, it's looking pretty good. The Steele Shop is doing a great job, and they are very casual about me hanging out there asking questions, and making changes on the fly.

That is so cool...what a Nobel idea to show tire pressure...specially in a truck that changes the pressure at times....

Probably will have more info later, but did handle two things today.

1. We were able to get the JL Audio 900/5 amp to fit under the passenger seat without restricting movement. This was a big one for me as I wanted it more accessible than on the back wall of the cab. Wire runs are not done, so don't worry about that.

2. The siren got mounted as well - since i'm still getting TMX to put in a tranny/ps cooler later this/next month, we had to be creative on the mount of it. It's bolted to the bottom support for the radiator which is a solid cross beam. it's tucked behind the winch, which will disperse the sound a bit more, but will protect the siren from getting crap directly in it.

A few more pictures.

It's a scab and we're putting ZR800's in the suicide doors, which don't fit natively, so we are making custom brackets to mount them. Here's some of the work on those brackets:

the siren brain fit very nicely up under the steering column:

The antenna for the ICOM is going on a 90 degree bracket on the back bed, so we ran the antenna cable through the cab, with some slack to let it move and siliconed it in place.

Finally the ICOM head unit (Thanks Trey) is being mounted in the sunglass holder to hide it away when not in use.

let me know if anyone finds this useful, not seeing any comments/questions, if not i'll quit posting and move onto something else.

however if you're still interested, here goes:

okay some more progress was made today. Now you can see where they put the ICOM brain, it's tucked up under/behind the glove box in a very slick spot. there are pictures of the faceplate, which presented a challenge of how to mount it. Velcro could heat up and dislodge, screws would suck because you could see them when open, so we went with magnets. they hold it in place pretty tightly, and if it does come off, it's still in the sunglass cavity. There is a picture of the rear suicide door and we remounted the window motor to make room for the ZR800's, which are massive 8" speakers. You can see the board they are fashioning to mount it too, we'll cover this in leather to match the seats and it will blend right in. the board mount will be front and back side and attached to the sheet metal of the door, which will make the door panel a bitch to get off easily (have to remove speaker first), but it won't move at all when installed, and won't stress the plastic door panel. the front speakers are done and the grills are painted/installed - black looks pretty damn good in place of the Sony silver.

finished speaker grills:
