Since after searching for anyone that has installed one and didn't find any info, I bit the bullet and bought one along with their Y-pipe. Yes it is more expensive than QTP or DMH, but I got the best deal (and good customer care) from SFXPerformance.

I've owned QTP cutouts on my old 2000 Trans Am Firehawk. Always worked good, good customer care when the motor fell off. They replaced for like $15. Down side to them is I always had to hit the close button 2x to seal it shut.

I've also had DMH on my old 2008 TrailBlazer SS and 2005 GTO. These cutouts sealed fine, but they still have my damn GTO cutouts which I shipped to them to fix in June 2012! I've spoken with the guy once and only God knows how many times I've called or emailed with no replies to email or voicemails I left. It's just straight up BS. I will never buy from them again, ever.

Now for my opinion on Doug's so far, as it's still Day 1. First off, Doug's cutouts are probably truck only, I don't for see this cutout fitting on my old GTO or Firehawk. It is long! Y-pipe was a bitch to install, I've always had them welded in, but this one I decided to slip it on. Bad move, was a PITA.... Should have forked up the $40 and had it welded. Once it was on, rest was cake. I searched on the forum for ideas to route the wires, but wasn't happy with any of them, lol. As you'll see in the pictures ran the wires up to frame and then through a factory hole in floor under passenger side. Removed the factory tape and was a cinch, don't think I've ever had such an easy cable routing before. I will go back tomorrow and put some sealant around it from the outside, just to be safe. Routed wire under carpet and to the Upfitter switches (I think that's what it's called). Just like some, I mounted my switch on the back side of it so it's sort of hidden but easy access. The wiring harness on the switch is big compared to DMH or QTP, but I managed. I had to do some trimming on it and still not happy but already locked it all down. In hindsight, should have cut the harness and just crimped on some female spade connectors to put on switch, it'd sit a little more flush and will do that in the next couple days since console is so easy to come apart.

Cutout works perfectly, never had a gate-style cutout before but damn it's badass. It seals like no other cutout, about 2x faster than my DMH did. I also won't ever have to worry about any rattling butterfly valves! When closed, didn't change the sound of the truck, but when open it sounds as it should loud! I love it, cutouts are always just a toy in reality but damn I love them.

What part number did your order? I threw my DMH in the garbage and have the block off plate installed but would love to have a cutout on it again
