Its way to hot for my Aussie to be riding in the bed. He is addicted to air conditioning.

I like the idea of the dog hammock, but they look dorky and awkward for the dog...

I use an Orvis hammock when I need to haul around my three small dogs. Also used it to pick up my Dad's 112lb Rott when I was dogsitting. I usually also use masking tape and towels on the doors to catch any drool or prevent scratches from small dogs trying to look out the side windows.

I thought the same thing but our dogs ride way better with it.

Yes, at least with my SCAB the hammock doesn't really hang low. Works great.

Also, I bought a pair of door protectors from similar material from Amazon. They have small plastic strips that slip into the window slot to hold them in place. They protect the doors well.

Tried the dog hammock but it didn't work very well and our dog could get around / underneath it fairly easily. Tried flipping the seats up but she likes looking out the window so would jump up and her nails scratched the plastic on the doors. Now have Wet Okole seat covers on the back seat and they are perfect. Great fit, great coverage and no worries.

Your dog must not shed. Mine are dog hair magnets and take forever to get clean.
