How many feet of wire comes with that switch btw? Also how do you like the clamps vs welding it on?

It comes with 10' , I sent them an email stating that the wiring needed to be about 2 1/2 ' longer on the power wire on the switch and same thing with the ground on the switch and the main cord from the motor !! Maybe he can extended for the next guy I extend it myself not to bad but ima get the. Remote switch for a more stealth look ! The clamps work great I was gonna weld it myself but the clamps work jst as good u need two clamps The kit size is 3"

Cool, thanks. I looked again and saw that they make a 15' cord so I may email them and see if they'll substitute that one in for the 10'. That would probably do the trick nicely.

Just look under "Cables" and you'll find the 15' one.

Hey there, the way I did it was I ran the main cord along the side and top of the right frame rail , the kicked it up along the right side engine opening I kept the cord away from the engine and hEaders , I then ran the cord through the right side main wireharness loum , Then I got. 1 quick taping clip found the small brown wire that is the lead hot wire I tapped it to the red wire then I grOunded the black wire to the bare metal brace on the side of the dash with a self tapping screw and hid he switch in my glove box.

I found a wiring diagram on google on this forum that helped me out jst type in ford raptor wiring diagram

Are these more for street oriented trucks? I can't imagine these would be desirable if your vehicle sees lots of dirt, dust, and/or mud.

I'm not thinking it would really be a huge problem off road. Maybe if you get into a deep water crossing that is over the cutout, but at that point your stock exit point would also be submerged. While the truck is running I think there's plenty of pressure to keep anything nasty from migrating forward to the engine.

I wheeled my old GMC pretty extensively and I had it straight piped and dumped right under the bed. I never had a single issue with it even during water crossings and in mud holes. So as for myself, I'm not worried about it a bit off-road.

Edit: Realized you might be talking about the moving parts getting gummed up. As far as that goes, I'm hoping the electronics are sealed up, if not, I'll be doing that. Hopefully the rest of it is designed to handle dirt and debris as well. The HPE cutout comes with a 5 year warranty, so at worst you'd have to test that out.

I had the same concern so I emailed them and asked if the Moter and unit was sealed an they said you can completely submerg the thing an it will work just fine so it's good for missing and stuff like that I didn't ask about clogging issues but it wouldn't hurt to check it every once in a while haha I hope my cutout is here by Saturday so I can pop that bad boy in! I'm also cutting my exhaust off a couple inches from the muffler and having a shop make me 2 turn down pipes so even with the cutout closed it should still sound a little meaner :peace:
