GEN 2 Direct Injection Noise?

Is this the sound of Direct Injection? My truck was cold but I hear this all the time. I assume its normal? Lots of noises to get used to with this truck.

Before you say your truck does not do this you might want to cold start it and quickly blip the gas. Its louder with hood open obviously.

does the truck have 12 injectors? i dont think thats an injector noise unless they are at 100% duty cycle near idle. doesnt sound like injectors either.

sounds like a potential metal to hard plastic noise maybe?

Your truck sounds like it is sick. Wheezing on heavy breathing, I'd take it in to the doctor if I were you.

Maybe turbo wastegate actuators. Just sounds like an electronic actuator to me, so either wastegates or throttle body like you were guessing in your description.

Probably the wastegates. Man these things are noisy as shit.

Can someone else try this in their Gen2? You can do it yourself if its semi quite around you.

Its not the wastegate/accuators. I raised the hood again and had my little boy blip the throttle over and over. Probably 100 times or more.

The noise comes from behind the front cover, left of center. Maybe timing chain related. The funny thing is it doesnt do it when idling and it doesnt do it at constant rpm. It only does it on a quick throttle press and release.

The sound doesnt inspire confidence. I wish I had another Gen2 to compare it to.

I decided to take the cover off the top. Super thick foam cover to dampen sound. Found yet another noise. Im going to take it to a dealer when I find the time. Its not easy to take it to Ford. I start a new job tomorrow. ******* Ecoboost and all its rattles.

Would love if a fellow Gen2 owner could blip the throttle and also remove the top foam cover. A video would be great.
