Seems like a technology that OEM’s could add in the future if it was adopted in all 50 states. I couldn’t see paying for it voluntarily. If the DMV has access to any GPS from it they could start using it for the per mile billing of road taxes like they keep proposing.

I can't imagine any politician who pushes for involuntary vehicle tracking on all new vehicles is going to do well in re election, regardless of party.

The libertarian in me doesn't mind toll roads too much, you only pay for what you use, however I know other taxes won't go down as toll roads are added. Also recognize that business will be surely pass the additional expenses on to consumers. The result is the polticians and crony toll road owners get fat for gaining the system.

i stand corrected. we did this in the beginning of 2015 for a demonstration. had a few ceo type people at the shop while we put this and a few other things on a car they rented. had to remove it 4 days later.
