i also went with the amsoil sever gear fluid back when i installed my mag-hytec cover and didn't add any modifier to it and its been running great for the past 9-10Km miles. i also relocated the axle breather hose i suggest you all do it! or else you will end up with chocolate milk like me lol its simple just add some hose to it and run it up somehwere high i ran mine between the cab and the bed and no water no more for me!!!

Very stylish, Joe. But I'm worried about you. :)
Looking forward to your write-up (pictures or it didn't happen) on your work.

Good advice, Pat. I'm going to swap out my diff cover, too.

So we solved the FM dilemma, but we haven't solved the weight dilemma yet. Perhaps we can get a Ford tech in here to see what's changed (if anything) in the service manual since 2010 with regard to the axle lube weight.

2011 supplement , states
Front axle lubricant------ 80W-90 premium rear axle lubricant
Rear axle lubricant------- 75W-140, high performance synthetic lubricant.
Rear axle fluid friction modifier-- 4 oz,
So we are still at a stand still, no where does it say , to use it or not, all the fluid weights, and amouts, but nothing else.

Installed my Mag-Hytec rear diff cover after work yesterday and filled the rear diff with 4.5 quarts of Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-140. No friction modifier added. Right or wrong, that's what I went with based on what I've read. Did a quick 8 mile circuit while locking/unlocking the rear diff, various speeds, and hard acceleration. I didn't hear any chatter so I think I'm good to go. I'll report back if I notice anything. BTW, you guys weren't kidding. That diff oil is some thick and nasty smelling stuff. Had to use brake cleaner on everything it touched.

Ruger, I PM'd you where I got my cover out of respect for supporting vendors here. It was the lowest price I found, but I also didn't check with any supporting vendors on whether they could price match since it was kind of a late night impulse buy.
