I've owned all sorts of foreign and domestic trucks, cars and SUV's and I can honestly say that buying a new Raptor was my least enjoyable vehicle purchasing experience. Both times. And I paid $5k over each time when the dealer was adamant that every Raptor must be marked up by $15k. It is what it is. But the thought of walking into a Ford dealership to shop for a new vehicle now makes my skin crawl. You'd think Ford would realize how off-putting this all is. Also, a "halo car" like the Raptor is should have the exact opposite effect on people. It should make me want to check out other Fords instead of making me want to avoid their dealers like the plague.

You should wait and buy a Raptor Type R at MSRP (or less) and then tell us all about it.

Agreed on your dealership statement.

As for a “Type R” …not sure when Ford stole that label from Honda. I have no desire for an R. I’m looking for a comfortable everyday driver truck and not a show truck with a ton of HP. If I wanted that id buy the TRX.

I’ll never be in the situation where I willing let someone screw me over of 5k or 10k. No matter my age or financial situation. Getting screwed is getting screwed. No matter “the market”.
That’s not much money considering most states are charging you more than that just to buy it. It’s called sales tax. Now that’s a ********. But looking at who people voted for president it doesn’t surprise me at all

You don’t have an option with taxes and you do with ADM. Thing is when you pay ADM you pay more in taxes. People who finance will be paying that off for years and may end up paying $40k more than the original MSRP by the time they make their last payment.
Not sure what the president has to do with it. You will pay taxes no matter who is in office. Two things you can guarantee in life is death and taxes.

I’m sure someone on here knows the feeling… maybe I’ll be able to drive one someday… on a track.
If you want to drive a GT3 on a track, right next to the Atlanta Airport is the Porsche National headquarters and their Porsche Experience Center. Go for the one comparing a GT3 to a turbo. Each are great cars but you might be surprised by how much you like one over the other. https://www.porschedriving.com/atlanta

Id rather have one this weekend than wait several months just to save $5k.

So true. There are people waiting on other forum for KR and Plat since March 2021 just to prove a point.

You can literally buy the raptor for $5k adm drive for 9 month sell it for MSRP - with this mad market $5k is just rental raptor.

By the way $5k adm is nothing. I’d jump on a $5k instantly. Drive it sell it. Rinse repeat. You are never gonna have a market where you can drive new cars every 6-9 months

Got a 21 Camaro LT1 MSRP was $42.7k drove for about 8.5 month 6k miles. Sold it for MSRP - just for the dealer to sell it for $46k in 3 THREEEEE DAYS

On the Tacoma forum folks are waiting 9 months to pay MSRP - just for the Toyota to adjust prices to the point if they got a $3k ADM Tacoma TRD Pro They would break even today

Good data point is: I ordered a Lariat 22 on 11/21/2021 for MSRP: $58570 the sticker printed out $60,950. Rebuilt the truck on Ford after April increase $63,300. That’s approx $4.7k hike. $4.7k Markup from ford ? But $5k for dealer is sinister

LOL. You think anything off the lot is going to be below MSRP? It is above MSRP but several $1000s below what everyone else is charging. Dealers arent dumb. They know the market. Id rather have one this weekend than wait several months just to save $5k.
Nobody here thinks they’re getting one for under MSRP, but lots of buyers have indeed found them for sticker.

Personally, if waiting several months saves $5k, that’s a no brainer for most of us that don’t absolutely need a new vehicle immediately.

Fixed it for you... Meanwhile, Ill be driving my well-optioned brand new '22, put an order in (at MSRP) for a '23 R (hopefully) and having driven my 22 for 6-8 months, sell it back to the dealer for what i paid for it and get a brand new truck. Im fine with this.

I hear you on paying more than sticker, it definitely took me years to even consider the thought on principle alone. I've been eyeing the Raptor since the Gen1 but went with back to back Ram 1500's limited editions instead because I refused to pay sticker never mind above sticker... and although they were great trucks, they got boring...this year I said screw it and went for the Raptor with 37 package and wish I made the jump sooner. The truck is absolutely beautiful and so much fun to drive... worth every penny in my eyes... Looked at the TRX but too similar to my past trucks and wanted something different.
Life's a blink, enjoy your Raptor, dont sweat the small stuff...
