For fear that you might like it...? I've driven one and was VERY impressed. But I still love the Raptor. Now, stock Raptor parts with the EcoBoost that's happening in this thread... Oh yes sir, count me in.

The ecoboost is impressive, but the sound of a v6 turns me away. I love a nice deep rumbling V8

Lol, no. Too many of the F150 threads on the 2011 engine subforum involve a flatbed towtruck.
For fear that you might like it...? I've driven one and was VERY impressed. But I still love the Raptor. Now, stock Raptor parts with the EcoBoost that's happening in this thread... Oh yes sir, count me in.
I test drove them at the Ford Drive event when the 2011 lineup just came out. They had a whole track setup for the 3.7 V6, 5.0 V8, 6.2 V8, and 3.5 V6 EB. Stop and go, twisties, 1/8th mile acceleration, and a towing loop pulling 6500 lbs with the EB. I went in wanting nothing to do with the EB and left with the EB my hands down favorite of the lineup. I actually got to drive another 3.5 EB truck last week, a guy at the chassis shop had one, he just got it and tossed me the keys and said take it for a ride. I forgot how peppy they were, especially after going from S/C back to N/A on my 00 HD truck, the N/A 5.4 is a DOG! That 3.5 EB was chirping 2nd with half throttle.
Unless you're going for a loud exhaust, the stock EB exhaust isn't bad at all because it's so quiet you can't even tell if its a 6 or 8. The one I drove last week the guy had a magnaflow muffler on it and it was just barely louder than stock, had a nice light rumble you could hear, but definitely didn't sound like some rattly V6. Wasn't a deep throaty 8, but it was a nice tone. Plus once you hear the quick spool of the turbos getting into boost, that exhaust note is a second rate concern anyway lol.

Her "fake"raptor could eat your stock raptor as a snack before breakfast. Do I see long travel front end? Lord knows what they are crafting for the rear.
i dunno, the sound of a turbo spooling up rivals that of a V8 rumble.
