They ended up keeping the mirrors because they “acquired enough chips.”

I think it was the backlash for safety concerns

Frostbite on hands after scraping windows is a safety concern! Ok, maybe that’s a little dramatic. But at least send trucks with heated steering wheels to folks who get winter conditions.

Lol, I've been using mine daily the past week or more. Hoping to find out what piece of the puzzle is missing and maybe fix it down the road at some point. Shouldn't be that difficult, should it? Steering wheel? Clock spring? Module and program? It would be nice to know and update later if at all possible.

Several people have stated it wold not de able to be added latter. Not sure if this is accurate

Someone posted on g14 that Ford released a statement claiming that it would be able to be added at a later time

Ford regional rep told my dealer that it "cannot be retrofit or added later". But I have a hard time believing this. It's not like ford is going to change their BCM hardware or wiring harness. That'd cost too much. They'll just omit a module or something. I would bet a new steering wheel and a software option, but that's only a guess.

If it is possible to retrofit, what are the chances it costs more than $140?
