The MSRP on the 2020 I'm hopefully picking up was $76,755. I believe I am getting invoice, which is $71,508 after destination and delivery. The dealer shared the paperwork with me. I wasn't excited about the $2,000 stickers, but hopefully they will grow on me. Other options in addition to the hood and side graphics are the bead lock capable rims, moon roof, carbon fiber package, loading ramps, spray in bed liner, tailgate step and rear heated seats. I didn't have to negotiate with this dealer, that is what they offered and I accepted it. I did make offers on a couple other dealerships, but they wouldn't budge much at all. The best I got was about $2,500 off MSRP elsewhere.

Waiting to finalize everything but finally got some responses that were positive today. Got lucky and hit up a random dealer that had the lead foot I wanted that was within driving distance. They originally had a 10k mark up and then dropped it down to a few thousand over msrp. I made a straight forward this is what I want it at and they accepted. I got them to agree to $67,300 OTD with them throwing in all weather floor mats. Lead Foot 802A, forged rims, spray in bedliner, moonroof (which I actually really wanted). Only thing missing was the CF package but I rather have the better looking rims. Couldn’t stand the basic stock ones. Overall, feel pretty good about the price I’m getting the truck at. I had a couple other dealers working really hard for me but after shipping costs the numbers just couldn’t compete. I know of another lead foot in missouri that is at a really good price if anyone is interested. Thanks for the info everyone!

Well, I think they are kidding themselves, the consumer confidence index is crashing hard, we all know why, Ford knows it, FCA, GM, Toy, Hon, they all know it. Maybe I'm too doom and gloom, but the writing is on the wall, they will have to give these things away to even have a hope they can continue to survive. Remember what happened in 2008, how many Ford and GM dealerships folded up, a lot. so, they are stupid not to take the 63K IMO, they may be losing about 3 to 4 K on it, but it's cash flow they desperately need.

I understand where you are coming from but am not sure that selling below invoice for a sustained period of time (even two months) will help a dealer. Help me understand, because I know I don't see the whole picture. The only benefit that I am aware of for selling below what it costs the dealer is the end-of-month and end-of-year incentives. The combined incentive earned by moving vehicles would have to be greater than the loss incurred for each vehicle sold under invoice.

Also, when purchasing, it is important to know about "Hold Backs" on the dealer invoice. This is a...

Watch this youtube. It explains how dealer invoice is not actually what they paid due to a manufacturer applied hold back. I am in the middle of a negotiation for a 2020 and what I learned from it has me in control of the process. The dealer changed his position when I noticed the hold back on the invoice.

I keep an eye on an out of state dealer who has a 19' Raptor. They have like $7k off msrp. I just asked if they would include an extended warranty. He said no and I think he's getting pissed I bother him every few weeks.

Anyway...In CO a local dealer has Invoice +$500 on 20's. Which is way better than they have been going for.

My point i guess is, the dealer has already sunk cost in buying the car (inventory) from the manufacturer, yes? The dealer has bills to pay, payroll, mortgage, whatever... right. Yes, the manufacturers would most likely step in to help via Hold Back and other manufacturer incentives to move the inventory, and maybe dealers are waiting for that and is why they are being hard-asses during this historic economic nose-dive. But my point is, sunk costs in inventory, need cashflow to pay bills (?) = sell sell sell, even if it's technically at a loss. I suppose if they are liquid enough to ride out a 12 to 24 month 2nd Great Depression, then more power to them, and they can sit on inventory until that model is no longer relevant (?).

The dealer I bought my Raptor from is advertising "help your country out buy a car" and so my response is, "Hey Dealer, help me help you, give me the deal of a freakin lifetime and we can help the country together".

yeah...how about that?

Most likely the dealers are not getting charged for their current inventory. Ford is probably giving them 30-60 days with no interest on their inventory. Also there currently is no production on any truck. Once the plants start back up production you are looking at several more weeks of inventory getting back to the dealers.

My dealer is glad to have extra inventory that will hold them through the down production timeframe. That being said what incentive do they have to take a loss? Sales will come back once the pandemic is over. Folks will be ready to spend like there's no tomorrow....or I could be totally wrong. It's just an opinion and we all know what that's worth.....

Current market if you can get Invoice or Invoice minus Holdback is a Great Deal on a Raptor!

I think it’s still too early to score a killer deal on a Raptor. Besides, with production shut down the assembly plants will be shifting over to 2021 models in a few months so any Raptor inventory sitting on the lots won’t be given away.

I have s strong feeling that the 2021 Raptor will largely be a carryover in SCREW version only with the same drivetrain. I think 2022 will be the refreshed Raptor and will join the lower F-150 versions late next year.

I hope you are right that we will bounce right back, that is definitely an optimistic point of view that I wish comes true.
