Why isn't this thread in the ADD Vendor forum?!

Addictive Desert Designs - FORD RAPTOR FORUM - Ford SVT Raptor Forums - Ford Raptor

ADDSean has posted in that forum multiple times today!

These kinds of posts should, IMO, be put there and you all should be calling ADD out in their own Vendor forum.

You have every right to post here (or wherever the mods allow you to post) but I believe the process should be:

1. Call the vendor
2. Email the vendor
3. Call the vendor and email the vendor (more)
4. Find out where the owner/manager/workers live and call them there
5. Post in the Vendor's forum
6. Post in other forums (after giving them some chance to respond to #5)
7. Lawyer up

Note to guy with father who's a lawyer: If I were any vendor anywhere and I found out you had a family member who is a lawyer I would absolutely never do business with you. That includes anybody buying something who is him/herself a lawyer. Lawyers are, by far, the most dangerous customers a company can have. There's no business a company can do that can make it worthwhile to do business with a lawyer, especially small and medium-sized companies. Ask me how I know.

Note to guy who gave a company a $3,000 deposit: You are very lucky you got your product (I believe you said you did). You also may want to reconsider how you do business with small to medium-sized companies that you can't go visit periodically (or have someone do that for you). In this economic climate people like you are getting ripped more than ever before by companies who do it intentionally and/or by companies who are dying and use the deposits for their cash flow. Caveat emptor

I wish you guys good luck and hope ADD comes through for all of you.

I'm glad you don't have a business I want to purchase products from, I have a J.D. :winner_second_h4h:

From my experience and being around these forums for a bit, typically Raptor owners are not accustomed to dealing with small fab shops. At the end of the day that's what all these vendors are. The guys running the phone is the guy dealing with all the vendors, picking up orders, writing checks, building products, interviewing prospective employees all while trying to see his kids and keep his wife from leaving him. These are not huge companies with dedicated sales/customer service staff. I understand the frustration, especially be size I am in sales/customer service, but there is only so many hours in a day for these guys. If you have to call every week for a status update than do it! Call 2 x a week but expecting to get an update every time there is a hiccup is not realistic. All the vendors on this forum are good companies and do the best with the limited staff they have. Owning a business and trying to expand in today's market is not easy and the owners of these places have a lot on the line

NONONONO---I am talking about the Company in question here.......

Fred is good troops!!

Thanks Boss...that is what I thought...

I will agree, somewhat, lawyers can be a pain to deal with...some wait until the last minute and need it yesterday and want to beat you up on price.

Plus some, not all, feel they can litigate for free and use the law as a hammer which is completely wrong...

That being said...not all are a pain...

Now if you really want to have some fun watch a lawyer that comes up against another lawyer in a business deal...talking about a pissing contest...

I get that. But my primary point was I would not ever want to do business with a lawyer. It's not an indictment against all lawyers but having just 1 lawyer as a customer who has it in for you has the potential to ruin a small business.

I'm no lawyer but that might be against the rules^

What rules are you speaking of? There's no rule in the US that says a business MUST do business with someone.

That would be "fun" to watch but it'd be nothing like 1 lawyer in a pissing contest with a small business owner.

You guys can do business with whomever you want. I'd prefer to not do business with a lawyer "just in case."

The poster who threatened legal action with his Dad (the lawyer) is what reminded me of this. It's people who "whip out their lawyer" when things aren't going well are the ones you need to watch out for. IMO

Having experienced abysmal service and communication while waiting over 8 months for some pre-paid parts, I don't screw around with these Fab Shop companies any more. The worst to deal with are the ones that aren't Raptor-specific (like ADD). They act like they don't need your business because in truth they don't. They are very busy putting their accessories on other Fords, Chevys, Rams, Jeeps, Toyotas, etc etc.

Instead, I just call TMX. Same stuff for close to the same price, with minimal hassle. They have the inside track with these companies, and access to their back lines of communication. They do all the heavy lifting when it comes to calls and follow-up, and don't mind being the squeaky wheel to get what they ordered.

Don't risk it... TMX it!

Follow up...?

I was looking at a few of their bumpers today but after reading this I'm not even going to bother sending a PM about a question I had. To be honest if they haven't responded to this thread yet I think the Admins need to revoke their vendor rights.

I also haven't seen or heard of one action taken by anyone of our admins here (publicly that is) on this issue. If that's the case I'm glad I didn't pay to be a supporting member here.

Coming from several other car forums where vendor membership is required, the admins act as the medium between vendors and members when shit like this happens. I've been a victim of this type of shit too many times. Most of the time interaction with the admins solves my problems and other times I have to get my CC company involved.

Either way legal action is the LAST step if none of the above has worked.

Have you contacted an admin yet?

Has an admin contacted ADD about their lack of customer service voiced by several members in this thread?

These are the kinds of things that protect our little community here. Out of all the forums I've been a part of, I like this forum the best, mostly because we are a mature good of folks that help each other out and don't rag on each other. I don't know charlestonboy but I feel his pain because I've been through the same BS. I hope everything gets resolved.

If the issue was resolved behind closed doors then ignore what I said but take it as a guideline.
