Thanks for showing us your true colors...

I could care less about getting a loaner when I take my Ford in for service. I pay cash for all my vehicles and houses, so I can afford to drive whatever I want. I do not need to drive a "premium luxury" vehicle to feel good about my truck choice.

If you think the GM dealer made more profit off my $43K Cadillac than the Ford dealer made off my $72K Raptor, you are sadly mistaken. Ford dealers could easily "afford" to provide a premium level of service for Raptor owners, but they have found we will continue to buy them without it, so why bother?

And no, I would never buy a Lincoln pickup or Navigator because they are chrome-ugly!
Rich man. You are the kind of friend I need. Someone that can break poverty barriers in our society.
I like this man!

All that is to say, we are all buying a "premium" vehicle at a discount dealer, generally speaking, and we get everything that comes along with buying a less than premium brand. It is what it is.

I just bought a ford extended warranty and purchased the rental car coverage so I can just drop the truck off and haul ass.[/QUOTE]

It wasn’t so rosy with SVT. Just because the contract says you get a loaner, doesn’t mean one will be available. I had that happen with an SVT, and my local dealer for their customers. My local stealership has courtesy loaners, but not enough that you can just show up, they’re by appointment. Service is whenever you want, but the loaner fleet is limited.

In a perfect world, we would just get a loaner every time something went wrong and you had to leave the vehicle. It’s not a perfect world.

True. I called the dealer on Friday to arrange for a loaner before I drop the truck off for the recall and tranny flash, they have an enterprise rental onsite. Writer said he would call me back on Friday or Monday once he gets his hands on a loaner that will carry my work stuff. Still waiting. I will call again later today. Worst case, I guess they would just put me in a shitbox if the truck was ever undriveable.

Just to confirm, you bought an ESP with a loaner and they want you to reserve with the onsite Enterprise rental every time you use it?

If your truck breaks down unexpectedly, do they guarantee you will get a rental car? (i.e. Maybe not a truck, but something to drive)

What is obvious to most is totally lost on others, but sometimes I forget that not everyone can have above average intelligence.

Since you are still struggling with this concept, let me find a different example you might understand. When you go to Walmart, don't be surprised when you get the Walmart experience regardless of how large your ticket is. Same thing when buying an expensive Ford. If you don't want the Ford experience, don't buy a Ford truck.

Given your expectations, a G wagon is probably a better fit for you.

I would imagine I would get a car if I needed something quickly, worst case. I told him I need something with room for works stuff, some tools and ladders. Should fit in an SUV or truck.

Above average intelligence, indeed! Thanks for the laugh...

Where is @Jake17 when you need him?
