I actually had a tremor on order but the truth is I would always want the Raptor. So I cancelled the Tremor order after I found A dealer with allocation who would order the Raptor at Msrp and the price difference is less then 10k. So Now the wait begins.,

i had a 2015 Lariat and it was time to get a new one. I was cross shopping the Powerboost, Tremor and Raptor. I could not drive a 21 raptor. I drove a powerboost, a tremor, and the dealer had a low mileage 19 Raptor FPB W/ recaros. I liked idea of the powerboost w/ 7.5k generator cause we camp a bit and I do 80% in town. Drove the tremor and then drove the 19 raptor. Yea the interior was basically my 2015 but the drive was what sold it for me. I was so late to the 21+ raptor party that I was never going to get one. I have had lots of cars and trucks and I can usually feel
When it is time to get a new one. It was time.

Now this is a 19 compared to 21’s. I can only imagine that the 21+ Raptors have to be amazing and there are plenty of write ups to prove it. If you can do the Raptor, do it. Life is to short. Hell you had a GT350, Keep the fun going and get the Raptor.

There are no Raptor allocations where I live but I have one waiting for me out of state at the dealership where I bought my previous Shelby GT350 a few years ago--> at MSRP.

^^^^
This. Everything you typed after this was superfluous. If the Raptor wasn’t a serious contender, you wouldn’t have typed all this on FRF, you’d have bought the Tremor already.

The Tremor will do everything you want and then some. The Raptor will do all of it better. EXTRA better. You have MSRP. For a Raptor.

Like Cowboy Coward told Ned Beatty (in the movie Deliverance): “Don’t say anything, just DO it”.

Welcome to FRF BTW.

I started off in the same boat because I thought I could spec a tremor out closer to $60k, but that’s just not the case. Then after seeing one in person i didn’t like the orange color. The seats have the orange stitched in them.

The Raptor is the better truck hands down. And as someone else pointed out, the Tremor is just another F-150.
the orange is a deal breaker for me. the exterior accents and orange piping on the interior is too much.

Being that you are a “car guy” like most members on here I vote for the Raptor. It’s currently the most bad *** 1/2 ton pickup truck available on the planet. The amazing resale is just icing on the cake.

Sounds like you've answered your own questions. If you can find a Raptor at a good price, it'll be much funner to drive than any of it's F-150 siblings. We're on our 2nd Raptor now and no way I'd go back to the regular F-150s. The Tremor is nicely packaged, but like you said the depreciation will be much worse.

As far as altitude...I traveled out to the Colorado mountains to hunt in both our gen 2 and Gen 3 and have no complaints in regards to loss of power at elevation. We have about 8500 miles on our gen 3 already and it's been a blast! So fortunate to get one at a decent price. I've put out a handful of videos on our experience with it so far.

Went through the same comparison….. 4K miles on the Raptor and I know for a fact it was the correct choice. You get used to the size to the point I’m getting right in traffic on the narrow lane with the wall…..

Thanks for all of the great advice/replies. Consensus is that it's a no brainer.

One other thing for you guys in the snow/ice: Have any of you changed out your KO2's for the winter specifically for icy roads? I know the KO2's do great in the snow, although they suck in the rain (was my experience with E load KO2's on a GX460 while living in louisiana). I figure with 4A mode and KO2's, they are probably just fine.

And as far as having to keep the truck outside, I guess it's a small price to pay. By the time I get it, winter will be over anyway.
FYI: for 2022, they eliminated Velocity blue and replaced it with Atlas Blue, which looks closer to the Performance Blue I had on the Shelby. I'm not a big fan of the Velocity, but I loved the Performance Blue. So my final decision is whether to go with White or the Atlas Blue.

At $68k, you must be looking at a 7.3 gas motor tremor. You’re probably looking at 350-400 miles per fill up. In a Raptor, you’re at 500+ miles per fill up. (It’s been awhile since I looked, my math may be slightly off).
That was the biggest difference I didn’t switch.
I’m going on my 4th Midwest winter with KO2s, they are just fine in the snow.
