Does the Tremor come with just slightly upgraded Focomo shocks or name brand?

I have yet to drive a Gen3, but I’m on my 2nd Gen2 & I was coming from mainly GM trucks & before I got my first 2018 Gen2 I went to all
The big 3 w/ an open mind & drove all kinds of trucks, did same thing before pulling trigger on my 2020- what I’ve found & others have kinda already touched on it is the following:

Ford really designed the Raptor from the ground up, they truly give an F about it & it shows- while many times you can look at a high price high option/trim truck & easily point out (warranty not withstanding) - “I could just buy an SLT truck instead of Denali & its basically same, or I could buy a Laramie Ram & mod it to be better than a Rebel, etc. well for the delta in price between a Tremor & Raptor you absolutely cannot turn the Tremor into a Raptor equal- it’d take more $$$ than that & yeah, you’d lose warranty too (not that it matters necessarily) - the bespoke transfer case & engine (that we now know makes more TQ to the wheels than its rated @ the crank lol) can’t be replaced w/o crazy cost, the hood, all 4 fenders & bumpers & lights- all unique, the shocks & how everything integrates w/ the drive modes, the reinforced frame, the ability to rock 37” tires etc etc etc all of it is Raptor specific & can’t be duplicated for the price difference.

I think the Gen3 takes this even further, why? For starters as I mentioned the engine has obviously been underrated by Ford & must’ve had the factory tune “massaged”- it shares forged crank/guts & the block architecture now w/ only ONE other Ford vehicle- their pinnacle vehicle supercar Ford GT (4-5 years ago you could option it in a platinum right?) there is only ONE truck in Ford’s lineup w/ a coil-over rear, & that combined w/ the nasty new Fox live valve suspension means NO other truck in Ford’s lineup (or anyone else’s for that matter) will produce the same kind of cushy ride on or off pavement.

You can make a standard F150 into a tremor for the price difference, but can’t justify turning any trim level F150 into a Raptor, it’s so ludicrous the only course of action would be to buy a real one lol

Or OEM hood/fender flares/tailgate/rims/tires/transfer case/crate engine/steering wheel/seats/shocks/springs/a-arms/sway bars/spindles/end links etc….and more than that lol

Hey….I guess the battery & brakes would transfer over, but the frame wouldn’t lol

If you want a Raptor get a Raptor otherwise cross shop a tremor w/ Rebel Ram or AT4 or TRDpro etc…..only “fair” competitor to a Raptor would be like a TRX or the Wrangler 392

Thanks for all of the great advice/replies. Consensus is that it's a no brainer.

One other thing for you guys in the snow/ice: Have any of you changed out your KO2's for the winter specifically for icy roads? I know the KO2's do great in the snow, although they suck in the rain (was my experience with E load KO2's on a GX460 while living in louisiana). I figure with 4A mode and KO2's, they are probably just fine.

And as far as having to keep the truck outside, I guess it's a small price to pay. By the time I get it, winter will be over anyway.
FYI: for 2022, they eliminated Velocity blue and replaced it with Atlas Blue, which looks closer to the Performance Blue I had on the Shelby. I'm not a big fan of the Velocity, but I loved the Performance Blue. So my final decision is whether to go with White or the Atlas Blue.
I run Nokian snow tires that were specifically designed for the Raptor in factory size. While the Raptor is obviously not a “bad” vehicle in winter conditions by any means- ground clearance + 4wd + 4a/awd & the power/gearing etc is all gravy, BUT it depends on what you’re driving situation is like & where ya live. I live in northeast & travel a lot up/down east coast/Midwest for work regardless of weather & ski alot so im many times “chasing” bad weather. The raptor has some of it not THE widest tires on a truck, very wide footprint isn’t conducive to good snow/packed snow/ice performance. As far as the KO2s go…..they’re decent in fresh snow, but leave something to be desired on packed snow or esp icy conditions. They’re ability to dry fairly supple when the temp drops is a big reason they get the “snowflake” designation- not necessarily the tread pattern IMO

I like to eliminate the Weather as a concern entirely - running studded nokian snows on a Raptor essentially does that for ya, you don’t NEED them for sure, but when I see the kind of $$$ people spend on all other kinds of mods, I don’t regret having a 2nd set of wheels/snow tires for winter (bought barely used set of 2017 base 17” wheels off a forum member) also helps lengthen the life of the KO2s & keeps my beadlocks from getting chewed up by winter weather/roads.

Last thing to mention on this subject - if you are the type of guy to wanna run more aggressive ATs or get into MTs - a lot of those options can be crappier in the snow vs KO2 (esp MTs) so that’s another reason to consider snow tires setup as an option for winter.

I went through a similar situation before buying my first gen1 raptor. If I would have bought something else I would have regretted it every time I saw a raptor. On my third one now. For only $5k more, it's a no brainer. Buy the raptor and don't look back.

I guess the only reason to not purchase a raptor is size. I don't own one yet but its my biggest concern about the vehicle. I know I will love everything else about it for sure but the size is what worries me the most.
