Are they giving you such a great deal, near invoice for you to want to put up with their crap?

I would go elsewhere or do the quick refinance. I financed with Ford with my current truck for a $1,000 rebate then never made a single payment to Ford and refinanced as soon as I got the loan number.

They are actually selling it for $50 over invoice. I pitched a fit to the salesman, saying I have NEVER heard of even needing the credit check and that I know I will need it again once the truck comes in. My credit could go down 20 points or up 20 points in 3 months... There is no rhyme or reason to pull it now, and then have to do it again later. I told him, you have now seen two approvals and if that is not enough to prove I am good for buying the truck, then I was done fighting it.

He is gonna call me back this afternoon, if he can get that part "waived".

Wouldn't surprise me if they lie to you about having allocation after all that *********.

I know when I ordered mine, the dealer had to prove to Ford that it was a customer order, and not a dealer order. At that time Ford was trying to crack down on dealers ordering all they trucks they could get and putting them on the lot for a huge mark up.

Your right, some dealers lie about allocation (Redlands Ford), knowing you will never see your truck...

Sounds very suspicious. I would go somewhere else and see what they say. I thought it was normal for them to check your credit though. I never had a problem with it. The fact that your getting it for $50.00 over invoice may have something to do with it.

here, on frf
your credit should only be checked once the truck has been delivered and you are in the finance dept signing the paperwork to take it home. never should it be done prior to this. what if you decided to pay for it in cash? what reason would they have to pull credit then? once was enough, they shouldnt do it again.

Look for a new dealer. The only thing I signed when ordering was an "agreement" detailing the amount I would get for my trade in/$750 over invoice for truck (blank single page with dealership letterhead and the numbers we agreed on). Actual order was done with a handshake. Dealership needed ssn for registration purposes only during delivery process of the truck several months later. No credit checks done at dealership. (disclaimer: wrote check for truck).

This is crap. I ordered my truck with no credit check or deposit. This situation seems very shady. The dealership makes $$$ on your financing. If he still insists on you doing this with Ford Credit then ask him how many points he is making on your loan. This is also considered steering in the most blatant way and I am sure the new CFBP would love to hear this story

I always go in with the lowest rate from wherever and have a pre approve letter in hand and they usually match it. For what it's worth.
