Just realized I have a crack in my passenger rear taillight, sucks! No idea how it happened, could’ve been me banging against it loading/unloading something, could’ve been a Parking lot deal, could’ve been one of the contractors @ my house doing an AC install, could’ve been one of the 75 drunk people @ my house last weekend for bday party- all I know is it’s cracked up!

doesn’t look like any moisture in there & it’s not super noticeable (although I can’t not see it every time I walk up to it myself now) - if the taillight isn’t crazy expensive I may swap it out

anyone know the part# or how pricey these things are? Easy to remove/install?

Tail lights are very easy to remove/install. Two screws hidden by tailgate, pull light backwards (2 pins holding it in) then disconnect wiring harness. If the crack is small then you could seal it with clear silicone and leave it alone. No one will see it if they aren't looking for it. My driverside crack well over a year ago and never had any issues since. I don't recall the part # or exact price, but it was more than I was wanting to pay.

actually: HL3Z-13404-H - $700. Not sure if that includes that actual blind spot monitor, which you shouldln't need replacing.

You're under warranty right? I might try the dealer on that. If you can't explain how it got there and there are no other visible damage, hard to conclude it wasn't a factory defect.

Here's some of my tail light. One shows the crack near the top down the seam to the middle, one shows how much water I had to get out of there. And the last is after I sealed it up.

Cracked lenses are non-warrantable, he’d be wasting his and the dealers time. Cracks only occur from impact damage. Only microcracking is warrantable, which occurs within the plastic itself.

I wouldn’t bother. It’s bound to get hit again by something and doesn’t look too bad right now
