Cracked plate need some advice

If you look close, it is only skip welded on the outside. Plenty of access for dirt and moisture to get in behind it.

My driver’s is starting to buckle out some, I believe due to rust behind it. I am going to cut both off and replace with a larger plate.

My 11 has the same plating, but like others have said, its flush with the frame.
Has the truck been hit on that side?

This thread got me to check mine. Similar to yours Jake, mines starting to buckle a tiny bit. Time to add it to the winter list.
