The Gen 2’s are a mass produced knock off of the Gen 1’s. Soon you’ll see First Gens going across the stage at Barret Jackson, and your Gen 2’s will be widely available at the local Pick Your Part junkyard.

you guys are delusional

Well I’m glad I traded from my 18 to a 14 seems like depreciation is taking it’s toll on the newer trucks since they are just mass produced and not limited like the gen 1s

Judging by the numbers you posted, I'd wager you are not nearly as "glad" as the dealer. Sounds like you paid high retail and accepted low trade value.

Congrats though. Did you happen to see what they had your 18 listed for?

So I guess the gen 2 is so bad you have to drive a dodge for a year to get to an appreciation point for a raptor. Whatever, I like mine.

A used car lot by us always has a few Raptors out front. The Gen 1 trucks sell quick. The Gen 2 trucks sit for months. They've had a white 17 since winter. Anecdotal, but it's consistent.

you will always have people that are afraid of change and who hold onto the past. we have seen this throughout the years with various technological improvements. carburetors to fuel injection, pushrods to overhead cams, steel to aluminum, big NA engines to smaller forced induction, etc. there may be some bumps in the road but issues are resolved and things rarely go backwards.

the gen 1 was a great truck, it was a proof of concept that worked out well and started this off road truck craze that ford cornered and other manufacturers are running to catch up to. but there was lots of room for improvement as with most first generation anything. gen 2 was vastly superior whether people liked them or not, and im sure gen 3 will be an even better truck.

The local ford dealer around here has at least a dozen Gen 2’s on the lot sitting. They seem to stay there a long time.

I drive past my local dealer at least once a week. I have never seen a used GEN 2 last more than a week on the lot.
