I know it wasn't you it was one of your nutswingers you had back then. He wasn't shy about defending you and bashing me.

Well I can't speak on behalf of how others have behaved... Sorry that you feel my involvement in the issue was the cause of the bashing that you received. When I started the frame thread and documented my process with Ford, I never in a million years dreamed of how big it would become, and the repercussions that would follow both online and in real life. The internet is a powerful thing!

Now, back to the topic at hand...

Suggestions for new run ideas are always a good thing, just need to keep in mind what the average owner will be able to tackle, and their preferences when it comes to how they preserve their truck. Some people on the runs get upset when a tree branch scratches the surface of the clearcoat... others plow through trees (are you reading this Rick?) and don't give a shit! haha

I think once most people see the Rubicon in real life, they would understand why it wouldn't be very feasible for a factory 1/2 ton to attempt it.

If a stock Rubicon can do it so can a Raptor. Capability the Raptor is hard to match even in the slow rocky stuff but yes I will agree the size of the truck is its biggest downfall. Personally I have not found anything a Raptor cannot do, its always been a question of can it fit without loosing a fender or mirror(they are really ******* expensive).

The Continental Divide would be another good one.

I think the wheelbase, width, weight, and lack of locking front diff would be its downfall... The jeep has better of all those, and a locking front diff as well, which is a huge asset on a route like that.

I haven't seen much on the divide, so I'm not sure what it involves?

Hey, found this trip on another forum, by the looks of the pics, i Raptor could make it. But some techincal stuff and they talked about steep hills, good time to use our hill decent.

Dogskin hills and 7 Lakes trip report

Now us NorCal'ers just need to get organized to do a trip like this. Because with enough advance notice, i'd be there.
That looks like fun.

This Reno4x4 site has some good info, just found this.

Nevada Trails - Google Maps

That looks like a good trip. I would love to put sorting together to make this happen. If R.E. was to make this possible who would be in.....:waytogo:

Keep in mind on all the Runs and Rallies R.E. puts on their is a ton of support that goes with it. (Chase truck with full mobile shop and trailer 6-10 paid staff, stock parts that range from axles, tires, hubs, cv, drive shafts, power steering racks and pumps and not to mention I always like to pre run the entire course for safety reasons and also if any one has a major problem I like know a quick exit plan.) So this would be quite an under taking. We also have to check the trails are open and not owned by the BLM. The other option is no chase truck and trailer. We would still bring 2 RSV Raptors, mechanics, parts we could fit. The decision of the prizes would also have to be made. I just wanted to put these questions out their. Personally the entire R.E. crew would love to start covering some new ground. So let me know your thought guys.
