Finally got the order number correct for my 14 Screw build, and of course, the dealer would like to start paperwork and financing after VIN is received.

How many out there have done this before even laying eyes on the truck?

Lets say paperwork and and financing are completed, and truck is (god forbid) damaged during shipment, or isn't up to my liking upon arrival. Is there any recourse at this point since the paperwork has already been signed?

Just trying to get a general consensus on how many of y'all completed everything before taking delivery of truck.

This doesn't sound right. Usually you take care of financing upon receipt of the truck. Do they really think you're gonna pay on a truck that's not even built yet, let alone in your possession. I'm not even sure the bank would allow this. Title and registration? Seems odd.

Nope. Only thing you can do is apply for a loan. There is no physical product.

I never went to any dealership. All my dealings was via email first and only a phone call afterwards. I signed a build sheet that had the deal numbers on it that showed invoice pricing too. Once they got that then they sent me a Buyers order (motor vehicle purchase agreement) and when they got that, I had to give them a CC for a deposit. Once it cleared I got a receipt for the deposit.

The next day I got the Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment (DORA). I asked about financing and what they could do, was told to wait until the raptor delivery gets closer. I said I can get pre-approved with blah-blah rate but if they could beat it then I would go with their financing. Dealer said let's wait till about a week before it is delivered before any credit report is pulled. I did fill out a credit app so they can pull it when I am ready (they haven't, I've been watching).

At that point, I have been waiting. The dealer told me a VIN would be assigned in about 8 weeks. I ended up getting more info from calling the SVT number than from the dealer. I called SVT the first time to confirm that I had an order and the second time I called they told me it was scheduled and to get the VIN from the dealer. I posted the dealer code and order number here and Blood is the one that actually gave me the VIN. I confirmed it with the dealer. No further paperwork has been done since when we first made the deal. And I was told there would be no more until I pick it up.

I did add the Remote Access the other week to the Raptor (dealer installed accessory) and that was just done via email and they are adding it to the final paperwork.

I would question your dealer, like others said, doesn't seem right.

Not sure if it's a state thing but I was told they can only hold the financing rate for 30 days. I have always done everything the day of delivery. I did leave a $500.00 deposit and sign a sales ticket with all the final pricing on it.

Getting you approved for financing and getting some of the paperwork done is not that unusual but doing it that soon seems unusual. Your looking at between 4 and 6 weeks yet. As for buying the truck sight unseen even if it is damaged the dealer would be required to fix it. These transactions go on every day so that should not be a concern.
