Hey forum,

I noticed on my 2013 White Screw after the sun finally came out that my fenders are a different shade of white compared to the rest of the truck...is this normal? The dealership has no idea why and one tech said that they may get painted after the truck gets done at the original factory but no body had a clue? I will post some pic but the color difference is very drastic from a polar white to a flat white. Does any other (white) trucks (Raptors) have this color difference and if so why? Its obviously annoying...

Thanks for the responses....i'm going to take it to a body shop today.

Man this along with my remote start issues, Nav screen prob. is really starting to urk my after purchase happiness....

If it is a factory error and they have to repaint the vehicle do I get any compensation on missed work for taking the rig back to dealer and now to their bodyshop and the fact that I got a defected truck? I asked if they could get me a new truck since mine had less then 3,000 miles on it and my salerep said: son this isn't a red dress..... I almost lost it.

Might have to talk to a lawyer or insurance after this if it is a factory error. I understand that accidents happen but for 60K I would hope that they want the customer happy at the end of the day. (Repeat business) Or they might not give a S...

Passed experience, they will have to have a district manager confirm it was a factory paint default and authorize the work, and in your case I'm sure they will. They will re-paint it at no cost and will surely provide you a rental vehicle.

I serious doubt you will get any compension for missing work, etc.., w/o filing a suit, and I'm not sure that is even worth the time and effort (you'll just be making a lawyer richer).

It is NOT uncommon for metal and abs/fiberglass surfaces to be slightly off, even when using the exact same paint! My white Subaru Legacy had the same issue... Then I noticed other white ones had it as well.

For some reason, it's the most noticeable on white vehicles.

Have you had the paint clay barred, polished and waxed? It could just be paint contaminants, rail dust, brake dust, etc. White is very susceptible to environmental contaminants. Not to mention YZ oxford white is an ancient ford color and hard to screw up so what the hell I figured I would chime in.

My ranger has the same color, and no issues.
however, the paint match can I got, is ever so slightly different. there are quite a few spots on my truck I've touched up from scratches, and dings, and you can tell if you look close enough. Whereas the gray on my lowers, match perfectly.

white truly is one of the hardest colors to match. So maybe they were painted with two different batches of paint?

either way, I hope you get it fixed to your liking.
