Not without other mods. The stock airbox is pretty well designed. I just added a dry high-flow filter from AEM and called it a day.

Most people do a CAI for the improved sound or visual looks or as part of an overall performance package. Some people have reported slightly better throttle response. Some people have retained the OEM air box but replaced the air filter with a K&N. Individual results tend to vary.

I like my intake for the mile performance gains, the increased sound, and the ability to wash and re-use the filer.

To say an intake is useless is just misinformation.
