Performance wise (with no additional noise) just buy the S&B Filter kit.

It comes with a higher flowing drop in filter and a larger than stock air box intake nozzle.

The flowbench guys at SVC say that's the best set up and recommend it.

Also an assload cheaper than any other CAI...and no noise.

Just food for thought.

48% improvement over stock...and confirmed on the flowbench.

Thanks for that info @Aramco Raptor. I appreciate the stats. Did you run the SVC tune with the stock setup and with the S&B or did you install the tune and filter kit together?

Also, any signs or coming loose during off-roading? How long have you had it on?

Oh, just clicked your link. So did you just do the drop in filter and the nozzle deal or did you do the whole intake? I have look at the drop in deal that you linked before and was curious about that...

I like the idea of this without the whole new intake. Seems like a simple deal that improves airflow without cheaply replacing quality parts of the intake tubing with inferior quality products.

UHHH when did the flow bench get done? SVC has my intake right now and are waiting to flow test it with the company they use.

Right now there is no conformation that it flows better. Not trying to derail you here but don't want you to jump the gun also..

According to SVC...it was flow tested at the end of 2014 and is what V3 is being based on.

Don't want to start a pissing contest...just going on what i have been told from the source.

Just to clarify...they did not flow test MY intake...but rather a stock 6.2 intake with the S&B Filter and box nozzle...and that set up flowed best for use with V3.

i did just the filter and nozzle...$99 done and dusted. It fits into the stock air box and the nozzle clips in the side...no signs of it coming loose.

@Aramco Raptor thanks for the info. For $99 it is tempting. Are you running Version 3 of the SVC tune? If so, how is it?

I'm assuming that your tune was based on your intake setup specifically. I just got to tune (version 2) last week and love it so far. Wonder if I'll have to get it updated if I do this $99 drop in kit from S&B.

Yes, my tune was made based on the intake set up (that SVC recommended)...and I love it.

If you do change the filter and nozzle you will likely have to have your tune tweaked.

Does a FRF vendor sell these filters and nozzle?

Here's a bubble buster. The primary restriction in the factory intake is NOT the airbox intake snorkel. The primary restriction is the intake tube that runs from the airbox to the throttle body, specifically at the point where the airflow sensor is located. The diameter at that point in the tube is smaller than the diameter of the airbox intake snorkel. You can install as big a snorkel as you want, and your intake system will not be more efficient as a result.

No offense Ruger...but I'm gonna trust guys that do flow bench testing for a living. If they say it flows the best for my application...that's what I'm gonna use.

No offense taken, sir. But before you spend several hundred dollars putting your money where somebody else's mouth is, you might partially disassemble the factory intake and measure diameters at the air flow sensor and snorkel. That way you'll know when you're being exposed to mere advertising propaganda.
