COBB Stage 1 First Impressions on 2019.

I have around 2000 miles on my 2019 Raptor and I decided to buy in to all the hype about a Cobb tune because the lure of that much power, even on a 6000 lb. truck, is intoxicating to me.
I installed the tune last night and drove my truck to work this morning which consists of about a half hour commute of highway and local driving. Unfortunately I am somewhat disappointed. I had a Pedal Commander on the truck set at Sport + 4 and even in Normal Driving mode the truck was very quick. When I put it in Sport Mode with the PC, the throttle was a little difficult to control since it was so sensitive.
I have SPD Turbo Adapters and the Cobb Air Intake on my truck as well. Before driving this morning, I decided to turn off the PC and drive the truck in Normal Mode since I expected the Cobb tune to really wake the truck up. I even set the dynamic pedal control on the Cobb to 5 from the factory 3.
The truck feels sluggish and the pedal response is poor at best. Maybe I expected too much from all I've been reading and hearing about. The transmission does not seem any smoother with regards to shifting, and it still seems to search for the right gear. Maybe I'm just too difficult to please, but I can honestly say that driving the truck in Normal Mode with the PC dialed into Sport + 4 blows the Cobb Stage 1 away as far as overall feel with regards to responsiveness and throttle input. Perhaps this "generic" tune would work better being tweaked by a legitimate tuner that can customize it to each individual truck.
I'm not trying to bash any vendor or product, but I just want to give everyone my honest opinion, and this way, whatever decision is made one can do so with the knowledge of someone else's experience.
Since I'm already invested in this Cobb unit, I am going to play around with the settings a little more when I get the chance, in the hope of finding a "sweet spot" that Im happy with.
I'll keep everyone posted with a follow up when I do so.

Cobb has not released trans tuning yet, so you shouldn't expect a difference there.

You could use the Accessport performance measuring to get some real numbers between the two setups. That would take the subjectivity out of play.

I took my pedal commander off after my MPT tune. Pedal commander dialed up isn't something I'd like to try in a small parking lot, but I don't think it does much for overall performance, just feel.

From what I've read Cobb doesn't have the ability to tune the TCM yet so the way the transmission acts should have no relevance to the tune itself. I'm pretty sure they are working on adding this into the Cobb AP but they haven't provided a time frame as to when it will be available. I've been a Subaru guy for a very long time and have always used a Cobb AP for tuning but I've always coupled that with a Protune (Either data logging and emailing to a tuner or dyno tuning). In the Subaru community a Cobb AP with an OST map was only ever good enough to putt around safely until you got a Protune. So IMO minimal gains from the OST map seems normal. I would experiment with completely taking the PC off though and testing it out. You never know if that could be messing with the Cobb OST even if it is off.

The COBB AP by itself is a pretty big upgrade over stock. The 'feel' of the truck with a pedal commander + stock tune is purely deception in throttle response, that's it, no additional power. I'd try setting the Accessport up with dynamic pedal feel higher if that response is something you're looking for. But there is no doubt the AP is better then the pedal commander and stock tune.

If you need help with a custom pro tune let me know, but I'd try playing with the AP a little more and see what you can get out of that.

Thank you, yes I know the PC doesnt add power and its simply a better throttle response and therefore a perception of more power. I did bump up the DPC to 5 from factory setting of 3 but I will try bumping it up further to see what happens. Thanks for your input!

Sorry to hear that you're underwhelmed with the throttle response! Luckily, there is still quite a bit of adjustment left for you to increase pedal sensitivity. From the little I know about Pedal Commander, the Sport +4 is about as aggressive throttle response as it gets. Try setting the Dynamic Pedal Control feature to +10 to compare. No need to reflash the truck - you could even adjust it while driving for realtime changes in throttle mapping.

Thank you for the great customer service Cobb (Sam), although I run a MPT tune but I do really appreciate the after sale services.

I went straight to stage 2 on my 2018 and with the 91 octane program if I punch it the tires will loose all traction. And overall it woke the truck up. Try a zero to 60 with and without the tune
