clicking noise

When i shift from drive to reverse i sometimes here a slight clicking noise..it make 2-3 clicking noises durring the swift then it stops. any ideas? normal? I have a 2014 SCREW...

The noise on mine comes and goes. It's like Huck said, it is dependant on the load the truck is under while in reverse.

Already taken mine in once and they performed a TSB for a retorque of the rear pinion. No change, still pops

Thanks Crystal, have you heard about anyone else having issues like this? Any ideas what the problem is just from reading the posts?

Just had a new exhaust system installed today so I've been paying attention to the exhaust notes....doing so I've realized that I hear that popping sound every so often after stopping a stop sign and then getting back on the gas...never leaving drive. Off the line at a stop sign it's just one pop not two or three like when I back up.

I'll make an appointment at my dealership within two or three weeks when I have time. Hoping someone can chime in on what the issue is so I can help guide the ford techs in the right direction.

This seems to be the issue even though mine is a 14...I'll have the dealer try the fix in this TSB

Dealer did that to mine and over torqued it and gernaded the rear end

I had a ford master mechanic under my truck on his back while I held brakes and changed from drive to to reverse. He had his hands and ears all over it. He said it's coming from the rear yoke area going into rear axle. I'm awaiting his research. He said he was going to contact ford and find a solution. Hoping he comes through with an answer. Spent an hour going over my truck with him. He's the head mechanic at one of long islands largest ford commercial truck division. And since he has a raptor I felt as though he was really interested in finding a reason and fix for the noise. I'll update you guys if and when I get some more info.

My personal take on this shit is drive it like you stole it and hope the weak point shines through so it can be addressed and fixed. The creaking noise cry seems to get us no where with ford.....as most don't want to waste time on something that's not yet a problem.

Friday at 0730, I'll let you know what happens. Going to Cowles ford in woodbridge VA...i know the service manager and he's a great guy so im sure he wont give me the run around and will actually try to fix the problem.

I just spoke to them today. Parts are delivered and I'm dropping off my truck Monday for repair. After the repair I'll post the findings on the work order so everyone will have info in hand to visit dealer. Sorry it's not sooner.

no worries, what parts are they replacing? better question..what work does he plan on doing to fix the problem?
