I agree on the different date as I have to back out for personal reasons but STILL want to get this done. Appreciate the efforts of all involved. We will gitter done. I am offering up my garage if we need an alternate site. Happy to help.

Well Badger and Tom are out, but I'm still up for it. Rated, if you want to come by, we can try and muscle through it. I would advise going to the dealer, or other auto parts store, and getting replacement nuts that lock down the upper A arm. I fear, due to the intense pressure I ran into, that we might have to grind/cut it off. If done smoothly, we wouldn't booger the threads. Up to you, but I'm still game for this Saturday.

Well if you can get the Z guy to get ahold of ya then im down. Maybe someone has the spring compressor type that you can use with the strut staying on the truck.

Still can't do a Sat in October but I'd be happy to meet up Some Sunday and wip a few out. At least teach a few others how I did it so we can have a pearch party latter.

Did mine on the truck with a pair of screw clamp style sprint compressors (Amazon - OEM 25550 Strut Spring Compressor - $40.24). After having done it once I think it could be on in 1 1/2 hours or less (two beer project max), no fuss no muss.

If any of you guys are interested send me a PM or something and we'll get something schedualed.

We have all the tools and this looks a lot easier. I don't have a snap ring plier, so I'll either need ot pick one up, or one of you guys can bring one. I think this looks promising. I say we give it a shot on Saturday if anyone is still up for it. I know I am.

So pwjstruebig came by tonight. We tried the "on the truck method" with the spring compressors. Some things we learned:

-Yes you should save yourself the time and get a second set of spring compressors
-Get a pair of GOOD C clamps, the kind with a hex nut on the end of the threaded rod, not the little sliding T handle. Mine had the threaded rod bend so we couldn't back it off. 4 1/2 angle grinder to the rescue and just cut of out!
-Air tools are your friend. Don't start near dark since you'll be worried about all the noise. We sucked it up and made the noise, but if my kids would have woken up, my wife would have been PISSED!
-You can get away with a single jack, but you'll need a jack stand.
-Remove the top end of the Sway Bar End link. This gives you more play when jacking the lower A arm up to pre-load the spring
-Beer. Lots of Beer



Anyway, we got it done on pwjstruebig's truck. Looks great and is a noticeable difference. We're gonna do RatedSVT and me tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed. After doing 3 of these, I'm pretty sure I'll be spent!
