Morning Guys,

Wish I had better news. When I showed up on satruday, he had 4 cars in the bay. End of year vette guys and more coming. He will still do a shop day for us, but unfortunetly, it would not be until November. :banghead:

Sorry to disappoint. Looks like its plan B....Shooters place or wait until November. Needless to say, he did was not able to do my truck either.

Well Im still up for Sat. if we gotta go to Shooters' place. If we do November, it would depend on the weather and the weekend it would happen (another busy month).

Nice sounds like fun. But there's no need for spring compressor unless you going to top perch. Jst my input!! Al you need is two people a tie down strap some hex keys and lossening the strut assembly slightly dropping it. No need to fully remove it only takes about. 20 mins per side.
Pm me in ya run into anything il try nav an help

Hey guys. After the awesome success of our first ever Chicagoland Raptor Meet & Greet, we're going to continue on with our first ever group shop day.

At the M&G, we had no less than 4 guys that wanted to move to Mid Perch. We had in our midst two guys, one even from another forum, that had done the mod in the past and were willing to help out. I had offered up my house as the location for the work, needing only to rent a spring compressor or two, to get the job done.

Then Big Blue suggested he might be able to talk his Vette shop's owner into letting us use his lifts. I still offered to bring tools, as you know how guys are about their tool, err, I mean tools. We are pending on this offer.

And if you have other items to bolt onto your truck, no reason you can't use this time to get them on, whether they're new HID upgrades (yes I just bought these) or a set of Outlaw Raptor Hood Mounts (yes I bought these too) and a set of HIDX 4" HID lamps (okay, I know, I have a problem). Point it, if you've been meaning to get it on or you needed an extra set of paws, this could be your chance.

Right now, in the immediate future, I have the following dates open:

October 6
October 7
October 20

September is pretty full, especially this coming weekend, but we'll see where we can

We also have the VERY generous offer of Donk74 and the use of his not one but two spring compressors. One I understand will work with the shock still on the truck!:drool:

So let us know soon if you're either interested in a perch mod, a mod of some other kind, or if you just want to help. I'm told that with experienced hands, we might get a trunk done in 90 minutes. Not sure if that's pushing it or not, so I welcome input from others that have done it. I'll keep an update to post with who's coming and for why.

Thanks again to all those that are helping put this together. Let's just hope there's more than one non-Blue Raptor this time!

Glad you chimed in. Missed you at the meet, but we will have another soon. As far as the mid perch day, regardless if we do this at shooters or the Vette shop, no allignment is included.

I am starting to get cold feet....The more searching I do here, the more it appears that I will have rubbing issues with 37s and just the mid perch....and I was doing to mid perch 98% so I can run 37s! :banghead:

I had tire rubbing issues on my last lifted truck.....and it sucked!!! Do not want a repeat performance of that crap.

How many of you guys are also planning on running 37s...or are you doing the mid perch for more offroad clearance?

Hey guys. Back from an off roading trip down at the Bandlandz in Indy. I'll be posting pics and vids today.

Yes we can still do this at my house on the 6th. We'll need to get a definitive count so we can allocate enough time. Tim from the Z forum is a nice guy and offered to help. He has a 43" light bar he wants to install on his roof, so once he gets his rivet gun, maybe he could do the light bar at my place with some of our help.

I'm still going to get a spring compressor, mostly for safety. I know you can probably do it without, but I'm new to this, so I'll leave the tricks to the guys that have done it. I'm going to a parts shop at lunch today to get oil for a change I need to do, so I'll ask about the compressor.

No this does not include an alignment. There is a shop nearby that I trust, and I can ask if they can work with us to get some of the alignments banged out, especially for the guys that are driving far.

Depending on the number of trucks, we'll plan on lunch and maybe dinner. I'll roll a grill around and we can do hot meat! Everyone loves hot meat right????:whymewhyme:

I want the mid perch to level the truck mostly. I'm not planning on 37"s, but who knows. I'm mostly doing it for looks.
