Yeah I went round and round with that concept. I even had the bar 2” higher in first cut but I didn’t like that it sat above the roof. Then on the other hand I didn’t like the way it looked completely under the light either... so I opted for only about half covering the 3rd brake light and as far as cargo lighting I will have some ambers mounted to the bar for when it’s needed. But yeah it was a no win kind of challenge

You could add a set of LED's to mimic the 3rd brake light and wire them in to the same circuit. There are tons of good options for tiny red LEDs.

Working on the next phase of the rack. Made these bed mounts for it to bolt to the bed. Decided to try out bending the plate on the press. Turned out pretty good I think...what are rulers for anyway lol
