Trying to track the wheels by the position of a center cap is a fool's errand. Most likely explanation is what 1bad454ssv2 said above, the lugs and center cap stayed in position while the wheels and tires moved around. If you want to go to the dealer playing Perry Mason, mark the tires on the insides really subtly with chalk.
Btw was the tyre valve cap, not the center cap that tipped me offIF they did a rebalance at same time that may be why the cap was in same spot. Measure your tread depth on each tire , if they truly did rotate, I would say your rear tires should have a tad more tread than your front tires currently .
