Do you find it necessary for a 5 week old truck with 1200 miles before clay? I'm assuming no.

Absolutely necessary. Even brand-spanking-new vehicles need to be clayed/decontaminated before any polishing/sealing/waxing takes place.

Getting the Master Blaster was hard, because of the price, but on Amazon it was no tax, free shipping, so I don't regret it. Kind of silly to start getting cheap after buying a $60000 truck.

Ehh...you're talking to a guy who keeps clean Tupperware in his desk to snag leftovers from a meeting so he doesn't have to spend money on lunch the next day. More money for truck mods :ROFLJest:

I was talking about myself being cheap. I went years without the Master B, but this truck is so large, after drying the truck the first couple of times by hand, I knew I had to do something.

I agree with you. I'm cheap as well. That's why I currently don't really want to spend the money on the MB. But I'm sure after washing the beast for some time, I'll bite the bullet to save myself some time/effort.

Well your young, so it is easier for you, and if you get the Water Blade, that gets 90 percent of any water too. ; )

@ blockdoc, I appreciate the lack of flames because I opted to provide a devil's advocate perspective.

You can be sure I won't be flaming anyone for not having the same tastes as me in any kind of product.

the cost of the correction/coating will run you a good $900+.

I paid $450 for prep and application of OptiCoat Pro, done by a DuPont Registry Top 10 detailer.

Same price for my wife's Outback as my Raptor.

He may have given me a break, because we got OC on 2 vehicles plus Xpel on hers. But he didn't make it half price.

About DI water, I have a saltwater reef tank, and an RO/DI system that produces 75 gpd. My TDS is 1-2ppm. I could do a 2-bucket rinse less wash using it, but I just don't like that method. I'm opposed to anything advertised as "green". :)

And Amazon doesn't include application.

Proper application would include a wash & clay bar at a minimum, and very likely some polish/paint correction, even on a brand new vehicle. So application includes a good detail too.
