Can't jump start FROM Raptor

Raptors have standards you know. If you try to jump start honda civic or other kind of peasant-mobile, she’s going to balk.

ok, seriously tho... I know this sounds silly, but, could you give us a play by play of what you did? I know it sounds pretty basic, but maybe we pick something up - oh, and yes, if you do this, at least 3 people are going to post either a meme or useless criticism of you, but maybe we find something.

Right now it’s not enough information to get help, but plenty to get wisecracks and memes :)

Haha- sure! I felt like a tool posting this in the first place, but it was so preposterous that I had to. I thought there was, perhaps, a chance that there was something different to where it sensed it. But how can you block a direct post to post cable? Well, you can't.

So steps:

1) Pull Raptor up to Jeep (leave Raptor running)
2) Pop Raptor hood
3) Pop Jeep hood
4) Pull back rubber post covers on Raptor (Jeep doesn't have any)
5) Connect red cable end to positive post on Raptor
6) Connect black cable end to negative post on Raptor
7) Connect other end of red cable to positive post on Jeep
8) Connect other end of black cable to negative post on Jeep
9) Let sit for 5 minutes
10) Turn Jeep key

NOTHING

11) Repeat steps above but replace all "Jeep" references with "Wife's Suburban"

BAM! Fires right up

By the way, shameless plug. The Jeep is for sale. It's a 2007 Black Rubicon with a 6.1L supercharged Hemi. Whole drivetrain is brand new. About 575HP. Anyone? Huh? Anyone? It will smoke the Raptor.

Not sure, post some pics of where you are hooking up the leads on the Raptor, we can look at it. I jumped a car last week with my 17 no issues. Probably just a connection issue

Keep in mind on jumper cables only one side of the clamp is connected to the cable. It's possible to clamp to a battery post and not actually make contact. Be sure the clamp side with the wire in it gets the best contact possible with the post.

OK, i just looked at mine and confirmed what i remembered, there is a plastic housing all around my terminal clamp. Looking at mine, if i wanted to be sure to get on metal i would almost certainly have to go to the accessory post. The gap between my battery case and the plastic housing is pretty tight to try and get anything on the exposed clamp.

Are you 100% sure on this? If that's it, I'm going to punch myself in the nuts. I've just never had this be an issue in my 36 years of jumping cars, but I'll take a look at the cables when I get home.

Yes I'm positive. In attached pic notice the cable is only on one side of the clamp. It's the wire side that must take priority when attaching to post.

Your truck fires right up when you hit start; no balking, slow turning over, no lights dimming or flickering?

Thinking with my out loud keystrokes, I’d put a multimeter on the battery, and then via the remote end of the cables when connected to the battery and see if there’s an appreciable difference. possibly on the remote vehicle too.

I will say, that cable looks knackered. hit it with a wire brush.

multimeter should show you a low(er) reading at some point down stream of the Raptor battery. If not, then you had a bad connection --at-- the battery.
FB: I’m not trying to condescend here, just pointing out you’ll have to troubleshoot / rule out what happened.
