I suppose I'll take my chances with the 2017. I have to admit though, the Ford quality control based on everything I've read is a joke.

You also have to understand that this is my first American car, so some of you may be immune to these issues and consider them as "minor" and "normal". Believe me, it's not when compared to the SEVERAL German cars that I've owned in the past.

There are several threads on here where one person after another all with 1000 or so miles went and checked underneath their cars and they all had oil leaks. I'm sorry but when you spend $70k on a truck, you shouldn't be dealing with ********* issues like this. This is all down to ****** quality control at Ford.

I've owned 3 German cars... two audis and 1 vw. Both audis had major engine failures and were 70k cars and happened 2 years or less the vw was ok until the 50k mark and all hell broke loose. So it's not just an American issue all cars have problems no matter how special or expensive. If you're so worried about QC on ford don't buy one. All you're going to do is worry about every little thing that might seem wrong.

I've seen reports of a few issues that reflect poorly on Ford's basic quality control process - Raptor seats installed in base F-150 model, subwoofer installed but not plugged in, loose wiring harnesses, etc - but nothing to indicate their engineering or manufacturing process is significantly lacking compared to German cars.

I am/was a bimmer fanatic and have plenty of experience chasing gremlins and replacing expensive high failure parts after the free maintenance runs out.

I get what you're saying, but I just haven't had Audi forget to tighten down my oil pan bolts or plug in my sub. I know German cars have issues, but it's not due to quality control. That's my only point. :D

I wonder how many people with 2017's ordered are never going to get a truck at all. We are what, a month away from 2018's being built?

I know someone in that situation that the dealer has called and informed him he will get an 18.

My 17 has 7000 trouble free miles so far.

Also, blame the UAW and supply/demand for the QC subquality.
