Looking at a used Starlight Super Light 262RL

The only spec that worries me is the tongue weight at 845lbs which is 45lbs over the 2017 supercrew limit

Can this be remedied by a WD hitch and maybe timbres and/or helper bags, or deavers?

I have stock suspension on my 2017 Supercrew…

My wife gave me thumbs up on spending a couple grand to make the raptor safer vs paying $100k for a superduty

I would say HELL NO!

I have towed with about 400 pounds on stick leaf springs and it was stable, but you can tell this truck is NOT designed for towing.
I’ve towed an enclosed trailer with my cobra in it - probably 6k pounds - zero issues

THAT is still only about 400 pounds of tongue weight. Similar to what I towed (pulling a car trailer). He is talking maxing out the limit + 45 extra pounds on the tongue, double what a car trailer would be. 10,000+ pounds total. WAY over the specified limits of the truck

GCVWR is 14250for the supercrew, truck is 5600, trailer is 6000 - still under the max

I've towed our Airstream all over the West with our Gen 2 SC, no issues at all.
I wouldnt want to tow the Airstream with anything else.

sigh

6,000 dry. Call it 7,000 loaded. + your truck at 5,600, call it 7,000 with you, your wife and kids, gas and a loaded bed.

you are at MAX GCVWR

The raptor barely function towing half that weight, much less that length.

You asked, so you do you. But you are crazy if you do. Please post pictures of the outcome.

With Deaver +2 HDs (extra 450lbs capacity) I've had no issues with a boat. However, would NOT do that on OE rear springs that are KNOWN to $HlT the bed after a load, repeated air, or no reason what so ever (insert favorite adult joke).
