No matter what the fix, the word never is a little to much to expect for anything automotive. To many variables, including the user.

Meet our resident Troll, the user who formerly trolled here as sasquatch77, mgd, mcnawsty, gargamel, I’m forgetting a few more, sl75, etc. she’s been banned several times, but quite literally has nothing better to do than troll here on the gen 2 area of FRF.

Do you know it is a PERMANENT fix? Can you show us where you found that this is a permanent fix and there will never be any other cam phaser failures? When you mentioned the cutoff dates before, there were others here who had the updated parts and still had this same problem again. How do you explain that?

I will try to answer your questions ....... I am not a mechanic and I do not know the details behind what is being done by my dealer, but I have been told that what they are doing is what Ford has deemed as the "fix" for the issue. Supposedly that "fix" was implemented on the production line right before my truck was built, but for whatever reason, I still have the issue. I am not able to speak to the quality of the "fix". As for your last comment, my original post already acknowledges that I am part of that group; my truck should have received the latest "fix" at the factory, but yet I still have the problem. Hope that helps.

You don't understand even the most basic concept of concern identification and resolution.

Ford identified a manufacturing issue with the cam phasers. They implemented a new part number to resolve that issue. They also identified an issue within the PCM calibration that contributed to the issue. They released a new PCM calibration to address that issue. Both resolutions are clearly stated in the SSM I provided previously.

I don't need to "explain" anything to you, because all you do is look for trouble and stir up chaos and confusion. As I stated, an issue was identified and corrected. That means the original issue causing the cam phaser noise was resolved per the SSM. That does not mean that 100% of all engines going forward will never experience an unrelated cam phaser issue. You have no technical knowledge or understanding of the automotive industry yet you love to stir the pot and start rumors. You aren't a contributor to this forum, you're simply a troll.

I'm trying to figure out why sasquatch aka "kaun" still here. He contributes nothing, spreads rumors and misinformation, and doesn't even own a Raptor. He has no purpose here other than to cause problems.

Only a "whack job" would waste hours trolling a forum to spread misinformation and panic over issues related to a vehicle that they don't even own. Calling someone else a "whack job" in your situation is simply ironic and down right sad.
Ya, don't feed her ego. She's a mess and train wreck. Thus being a sasquatch.
