I was voicing a legitimate concern. I have no way of knowing the actual failure rate. :shrug:

And yeah, you are definitely all spooled up and blowing hot air. You need to cool down before you blow a gasket.
Voicing a concern over guesstimate numbers? Who’s spun up?

I would hope a lot more than that aren't having any issues. 20-25% is a very high rate of failure in my opinion.

That said, Ford is getting absolutely blasted by warranty costs these days so perhaps you are correct.

Since you obviously know so much about this concern, exactly how much is Ford's warranty spend "being blasted"?? Or is it supplier issue in which the cost is being absorbed by an outside company? Or are you just speculating as usual and trolling as always?

Very welcome. There are things we can do to lessen the oddidity so many v6’s that are DOHC with a 60 deg vblock present us with.

1- we have timing kits coming out but will be a hot minute and are r&d testing and real world after that testing prior to market.

1- cam grind so their is less of a cam torque like a v8 won’t have because their are two extra lobes per cam always keeping load on cam during the cams 360 degree rotation.

2- we will probably other than have a better grind for this limit the phasers to 40 or 45 deg of movement on the intake cams. 60 degrees is what these stock intake cams move and that is a LOT of movement for VCT. So limiting that, will help.


3- we have new tensioners that will help more consistent cam and timing chain and system harmonics

4- adress oil drain back issues several ways, and for big hp guys who like performance, and 8000+ rpm, of course we will go billet on the chain guides because we kill them at 7600 rpm.

Can only be speculation as not many people know how the suplly chain work.

I do know their is a lot of effort for the extremely minimal (in retrospect cam issues for their phasers)

FB and forums attract people with issues so speaking to shop foreman or guys who are in the know, the 1.6L takes the cake in service.

Ford is handling phasers and numbers are low low way lower than people think [emoji6]
