So I bought a 2019 Magnetic 802a every option besides the Recaros. Got a sweet deal on it after a week of negotiating. This was almost two months ago. Due to COVID and all that it’s been very difficult to find a shipper as I bought it out of state.

I finally found one and when he was two hours away his tranny went out in his brand new ford (F350 or F450). That was a week ago. Seems like a solid guy so basically waiting for them to install the new one and then he’ll be headed back from Georgia to Ca where I’m located. Could be another 1-2 weeks.

Meanwhile, I see that the other truck I almost pulled the trigger on is still for sale at the dealer and they finally came down on the price. It’s a leadfoot for around $67.5. 802a, slightly less options but it’s a 2020.

So call me crazy, but I am considering going and buying the leadfoot 20’ and then selling the 19’ Magnetic when I get it in a couple weeks. I could let it go for $71k. Which in Cali is a pretty solid deal considering most of these dealerships here are still asking above MSRP, and the truck MSRP is over $75,***

So the question is, am I crazy? And is anyone interested in a NEW 2019 802a Magnetic w/Beadlocks, CF Pkg, Tailgate step, tech pkg, pano moonroof, + more I’m forgetting.

Can you sell the first one without first registering it and paying sales tax, title, and registration? I'll bet that isn't cheap in California.

No. So that’s why I need to get $71k for it bc that’s what I paid OTD. I got almost $11k off MSRP

If I could 100% get the $71k I’d prob just go grab the leadfoot. That’s the risk

Assuming you could recover TTL and shipping, get what you want especially if you plan on keeping it for a while.

If you register the truck from Georgia..... don’t forget about CA sales tax. Would hate for you to be $5-$6k in the hole on the transaction.

^ Ya like I said if I can get $71k for the 19’ Magnetic then it’ll be a clean swap no additional expenses

I think it will be hard to get $71 for a 19. Maybe $63-65ish for a newish 19. Not sure how insane CA prices are atm

prices are pretty crazy. That’s why I had to go out of state. Almost all Raptors in Cali are MSRP or $5k over. I’ve even seen $10k over and they would not budge. If you can get MSRP or even $1k off MSRP here you’re doing pretty good, imo

I think I’d get 68k all day but I’d lose 3k so ya wouldn’t do it. Would just wait hopefully a couple more weeks for my 19 to show up. I got a feeler out there on CL so let’s see
