Well at $25 bucks to install it, thats $300 an hour since I had already put it all together with Blue lock-tite, painted all the hardware to match and had it all assembled sept for the connecting the air tube to the air box on the motor with the 2 hose clamps. As I said when ya bought it, its a 5 minute install. HAhahaa.

Glad its in. Hows it SOUND and run?

Disconnect your negative battery terminal for 10 minutes when you install the filter. The MAF will detect the new air flow and calibrate itself.

I asked an AIRAID engineer if this was necessary, and he said that it wasn't. It's on the AIRAID instructions, but he said that the Raptor computers learn so rapidly that it doesn't make any difference whether you disconnect the battery or not.

I didn't disconnect the battery when I installed my AIRAID intake, and the truck ran perfectly fine. It saved me a lot of reprogramming (lights, clock, etc.) which is always a pain.

This is true. If the truck was that slow to respond to a CAI that was designed to not need a tune (change in MAF reference tube diameter), then the truck would die with just a weather or altitude change... Put the intake on, make sure everythings good n tight and drive it.

To respond to Lego's "tech made 25 dollar" comment. I WISH LOL!! Techs commission per hour pay is roughly 20% of the at door labor rate. He probably got 4-6 bucks of that 25.

Anyways, its good you had the dealer do it. It covers your ass just in case.

I own the Ford diagnostic software and VCM interface... and lol, no, they can't "calibrate" anything like that.
