It seems as everyone has a different opinion. Currently I do not have a intake on my ride, however I was the prototype for my Jeep - And have spent time at AFE Factory, and I know they have a very high quality of standard. When I do pull the trigger on a new intake it will be the AFE Stage 2, but from reading up on the forums it seems all of the other brands of CAI everyone loves, so its really hard to lean one way or another.

I can understand more air, but the plenum opening is the plenum opening. No matter how big the tube, it still goes through there. As for less turbulence, it seems like there is more with the current CAI's given the pedal vibration that you get from an AFE ( and maybe others). I'm no scientist, so I am just taking a guess here. It's just my impression. Seems like a good drop in, besides the high end filters, would accomplish the same air flow.

I learned a little about this at school. PV=PV. So as more air comes from the tube at a certain pressure, as it goes through the smaller plenum opening volume remains the same however pressure of the air going through increases. So it really is more, even if there is a decrease in size diameter somewhere along the system.

so did I pass I never could afford college not the money the time... my answer was
the bigger the tube the less restriction and the cooler the air. sound's funny but air heats up. say you have a red hot iron and you put that iron in a cup of water not put a red hot iron in a five gallon bucket what one do you want to stick your finger in?
