Hey folks. Well, I'm in the market for a 2014 Raptor. I've been doing research on this truck for a while now and see a lot of good things and some bad. Of course, all the comments I get from buddies is to wait for the 2017 next fall. Hearing of a lot of issues with the V6 EcoBoost and I just can't stomach buying a truck without a V8. Different strokes different folks I guess. Any input or advice on the Raptor before I buy is much appreciated. Thx!

My only concerns with the 2017 model are the width (I think it's 3" wider) and with the transmission (the current Raptors have Baja-proven trans). But this will depend too on how you'll use it.

Welcome to the forum @tct577!

Good luck on your decision, there are pros and cons with both options.

The 10-14 Raptor is 3" wider than a 10-14 F-150. The 2017 Raptor is 2.8574392485" wider than a 2015 F-150

Welcome, I think the new one will be improved in a lot of ways, but as I drive a 2016 ecoboost transit already, I can tell you it has balls of power but sounds like an old grandma walking with her cane down the road.

Welcome and you can't go wrong with a 2014! Just try and find one with low mileage that doesn't look like it's been abused. Plenty of those if you can find 'em! GL!

The only reason I mentioned the width is because with a three-car garage, and with my mirrors folded in, I only have about a 2 inch clearance on either side. If the newer Raptor is wider, and you have a 2 or 3 car garage, it might be a problem.

Thanks for the welcome and feedback. Tomorrow going to look at a 2013 with 5k miles and 2014 with 8k miles. Hoping to land me a new baby. [emoji5]
