To each their own. Just remember these trucks weren't designed to haul around a plow up front. They were designed to be balanced from front to rear for max performance in all conditions. If you are planning to add 400lbs to the front you would need higher rate springs and stiffer dampening to bring it back close to stock performance. If you aren't concerned with all that, then setting the preload to top perch may get most of your ride height back but at the cost of front suspension performance. And if you aren't at all concerned with suspension performance...why a Raptor instead of a super duty?
Thanks Prybar, this is what I'm looking for, all the true harsh comments. I want to have the raw truth, and I thank you all for it, that is what makes this the best forum I've been on!!! I'm just skeptical on a tube bumper handling a deer, but after having run that bumper, you all are right I can't run that big thing without severely ruining my entire front end. I'm realizing reality about it.
And the reason for not getting a superduty, needed a truck in 5 days, wanted one with a 6.2, and needed something at the time that fit into the garage, width wise!!
Thank you all for the comments and keep them coming!!!! I love hearing the comments from more experienced people, and since I've only been offroading for 3 yrs I'm still just breaking in!!
