Isn't Ford Performance supposed to be coming out with a kit?

How bright are the fogs, really? I will admit I am thinking of doing it but it's mostly because it's truck jewelry at this point. The headlights are brighter and clearer on low or high than any other vehicle I've driven so I'm not sure the LED fogs are necessary. Is it a substantial upgrade in brightness?

I have been in a G2 with a 40" LED lightbar on the bumper and it was an impressive amount of light output, but I'm not sure the fog kits can come close to that level. Worried I'd spend $1000 on lights and end up disappointed.

Necessity is relative.

Baja Designs cube lights that fit in the bumper are 40 watts a piece. you can fit 4 of them (2 on each side) total which gives you 160 watts. Plus 10 watts a piece for a single element on the very ends gives you 18 total LED's and 180 watts of light output. A Baja Designs OnX6, 40" light bar has 24 LEDs and consumes 234 watts. So no, the cubes are not going to give you the same output as a 40" light bar of equivalent quality.


I went with the bumper cubes over the light bar because I thought those openings in the bumper were begging to be filled. The cubes can also be wired directly to the upfitter switches. A light bar will require a relay, so ease of installation was another factor.

We did the 30" S8 kit with the Unlimited Kit on our shop truck and the output was pretty solid for being installed in the factory locations.

Now, yes, a high quality 40" light bar will be brighter, but the fog kit gives you some flexibility with color, output pattern, and general direction.

That said, if you think a Baja Designs kit is more than you'd like to invest, we're happy to put together a kit for you thats a bit more budget friendly. Happy to work with you to get it all dialed in nicely.

They are quite a bit brighter than the headlights.

Significantly more than double the OEM headlights. The Unlimited Kit features nearly 25,000 lumens of light.
