Watching this build, I like the philosophy. Not going for 1 million hp, instead going for a nice bump + reliability.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck, but I subscribe to your philosophy here. The hellcat was cool but friggin useless unless I had new stickys on the back. Anything more than 600whp is a waste on the street IMO.

Is see you're doing rods and pistons but no crank...Is the crank forged from the factory ?

Also, did they mention limits the block? Reason I ask is the focus RS was a ************* bc the block would crack. Guys started to rebuild motors using the ST motor to circumvent the weak stock block.

Based off the info I got from Ryan the stock crank is a pretty nice strong piece. He rerecorded me closing the deck on the stock block for reliability but said it was not 100% necessary since I dont want to push 1000hp. He just started tearing the motor down today. I will update with pics soon.

Glad you are sharing the build. This provides a ton of food for thought after the factory warranty is up. Which pistons and rods are going in the block?

Out running the supercharged Roush and Shelby trucks would be fun in a DD package you don't have to worry about.

Yeah I had a vette that made 1075rwhp and 1150tq. It was a monster but that thing would spin 30 inch tall 12 inch wide slicks on 15 inch wheels at 100+ mph. I owned a 1000hp car. No desire to ever own another. 600 should be more than enough for a truck.

Here is the vette for anyone curious.

Anybody know what they're doing for the transmission? It's only rated at ~600ft lbs max, and it seems this build may be more than that.

People have been beating the crap out of these things in Mustangs and ZL1 Camaros. The ZL1 makes 650/650/. I dont see the trans being an issue.
