I think I've figured out how I'm going to tie down my second spare for TRR. I've been struggling trying to justify spending a bunch of money on a bed rack for the infrequent times that I will be able to participate in major offroad events. So, I decided to try something a little different. I picked up an inexpensive used BedNet. They are designed to contain oversize cargo in truck beds. I laid it in the bed, put the spare on top, and wrapped it over the top of the tire. It fully encompasses the tire and is attached to four corners of the bed.

I've had it back there for about a week now and it hasn't moved. I hope it does the trick at TRR.

Not free but its waaay cheaper than a bed rack and it definitely holds no problem and looks killer too! And no tangled straps just un screw and done!

Pretty nice Danactive, but for me, drilling holes in my truck bed is not an option.

Thanks for the offer Jack! I'm going to do a dress rehearsal next weekend and pack up everything that we plan to take to TRR. That will give me an idea of how everything will fit and if I need to make any adjustments. I'll let you know if I need it.
