See what they come in @ for cost etc. honestly if not gonna be a DD depending on pricing may make more sense to find a 9-96 bronco do a rotisserie resto on the frame/body, add a suspension/wheel/tire combo, drop a burly V8 crate engine (or hey - a 3.5 HO EB?), dynamat the interior, linex the undercarriage, nice paint job, bumpers, winch, & a sound system & while you're not getting a warranty you'll probably wind up spending less & getting more + being unique.

If you have been following automotive news then you will know that Ford will be entering the Baja 1000 with a semi production ish new Bronco.

Ford executives have been giving lots of interviews and if you listen carefully, they are saying the new Bronco will be using a six cylinder EB but did not specify which one. BTW .. the racing bronco is using a 6cyl EB as their race engine with a 10speed auto.

There are only 2 six cylinder EBs:

2.7L EB >> 325 HP and 400 lb.-ft. of torque
3.0L EB >> 400 HP and 415 lb.-ft. of torque ... this engine is new and currently being used the Explorer ST. The rumor is that the next gen F150 will have this engine as an option.

I know what you are thinking, what about the 3.5L EB ... I think this engine is going bye bye.

SO ... I really hope the new bronco will be using the new 3.0L EB. Ford has already said, the Bronco will compete with the Wrangler and the Wrangler is way down on power. The new Bronco with either engine above will run circles around the Jeep.
